I am continually stimulated by the beauty of the curve, and the sensuality of a simple line. It is an on going challenge to look and feel with my heart and not with my head. This is essential in creating work which has soul, sculpture that has the power of to touch, the power to open a conversation with the viewer.

Looking with your heart... the essential is invisible to your eyes ! »

Le Petit Prince by Saint Antoine de Saint Exupéry

I moved to the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France in 1994, to benefit from the translucent natural light and draw inspiration from the mediterranean environment. I sculpt full time in my studio in Usclas du Bosc, a 12th century village ont pilgrimage on the St Jacques de Compostella.

My principle medium is wood, using varieties from the mediterranean forests of the Cévennes, such as oak, boxwood, chestnut, cedar and cypress. The wooden originals are then cast into bronze in limited editions.

My background has always been one of a creative bias, studying sculpture at the Kensington & Chelsea College of Art, cabinet making Design, Sculpture and drawing at the  John Makepeace school for craftsmen and Aeronautical engineering at British Aerospace.
